Serena Williams has responded to the recent rumors surrounding her skin tone, firmly denying claims that she has altered her appearance. The tennis legend took to Instagram Live to address the speculation, calling it "ridiculous" and reaffirming her pride in her natural beauty.

The rumors were sparked by a video from her daughter Olympia’s school play, which showed Williams backstage with an altered look. As she applied makeup during the session, Williams made it clear that her appearance was due to sunlight and stage makeup—not any attempt to change her skin tone.

"There is a thing called sunlight, and in that sunlight, you get different colors," she explained. "I was also wearing stage makeup because I volunteered to help with the kids' performance."

In addition to dispelling the rumors, Williams took the opportunity to express her deep pride in her identity as a dark-skinned Black woman. "I am a dark Black woman, and I love who I am and love how I look," she asserted. While respecting others' choices, she made it clear that altering her appearance in such a way is something she would never do.

Her candid response has been met with an outpouring of support from fans and followers, who praised her for standing firm and embracing her authentic self.
