Twitch superstar Kai Cenat recently wrapped up his groundbreaking Mafiathon 2 event, which set a new record by attracting over 725,000 new active subscribers in November 2024.

One of the standout features of this month-long live stream was the $24,000 AI robot provided by 1X Technologies.

The robot, which became a crowd favorite, was capable of performing a variety of tasks like brushing teeth, folding laundry, and even dancing alongside Cenat.

However, a newly released behind-the-scenes (BTS) video revealed that the robot, which was thought to operate autonomously, was actually controlled remotely by Cenat's production team. Utilizing Meta Quest 3, a mixed-reality (MR) and virtual reality (VR) headset, the team manipulated the robot's actions by moving joysticks and using the headset to mimic the robot's point-of-view.

This innovative use of VR technology gave viewers a glimpse into the future of live streaming, where robots and virtual reality merge to create unique, interactive experiences.

A particularly memorable moment during the event was when Kai gifted the robot, nicknamed "Snoop-Bot," to rap icon Snoop Dogg.

In a humorous scene, the robot attempted to hold a blunt for Snoop, but hilariously dropped it instead, adding a comedic twist to the stream.

"Listen, he's shooting. You know? And, I respect that a lot. But then, he doubled down!" said Maxwell "FaZe Plaqueboymax," commenting on FaZe Kaysan's humorous attempt to "double down" during similar moments in the stream.

"Yo, bro, I'm telling y'all something - this s**t made my morning," Plaqueboymax continued.

The robot, designed by 1X Technologies, a company dedicated to creating humanoid robots for practical applications, demonstrated impressive versatility throughout the Mafiathon 2 event. The robot, named EVE, was able to help with tasks such as folding laundry and even delivered motivational speeches. These speeches were brought to life by a voice provided by one of Kai's production team members.

The humanoid design of the robot included a screen for displaying emotions and a Segway-like mobility system that allowed it to navigate the space efficiently.

Thanks to this innovative technology, Cenat’s Mafiathon 2 became not only a record-breaking event but also a testament to the future of streaming, where cutting-edge technology and entertainment collide.
