Jaguar's groundbreaking all-electric vehicle, the "Type 00," represents a bold step for the iconic British brand, and it's more akin to the flamboyance of the Pink Panther than its traditional image as the green Jaguar.
The vehicle, officially named the 'Type 00' (pronounced 'Zero Zero'), was revealed at a high-profile event in Miami, Florida. It boasts an eye-catching design, stretching over four meters in length as a two-seat fastback coupe.

Although details of the concept car were leaked hours before its official debut, the full specifications are now available, showcasing Jaguar's daring new design direction.
The car features a long, sleek bonnet, a flowing roofline, no rear window, butterfly-wing doors that open upward, flush bodywork, and a slatted panoramic roof.
The vehicle sits on enormous 23-inch wheels and is painted in an extravagant 'Miami Pink' satin finish. Traditional Jaguar branding has been replaced with new logos, signaling the brand's bold shift toward exclusivity in the electric vehicle (EV) market, marking a fresh start after a century of history.
Jaguar is now targeting a more upscale and luxurious market, entering the realm of competitors like Audi, Tesla, Bentley, and Aston Martin. The carmaker describes the Type 00 as "a fearless new face for Jaguar" and insists it is "a copy of nothing."
Jaguar aims to break away from its traditional customer base, once characterized by middle-aged, affluent individuals, symbolized by characters like Inspector Morse, who drove a classic red Mk II Jaguar. According to company executives, only 15% of future buyers will be existing customers, while 85% will be new to the brand.
The Miami Pink Type 00 is officially labeled a "design vision concept" car, providing a clear indication of the styling direction for the next three production models set to follow.
Jaguar’s new era is set to begin with a four-door Grand Tourer, which has already been spotted in camouflage during testing. The car is scheduled for a late 2025 reveal, with sales expected to start in 2026.
The GT will feature an impressive electric range of 478 miles on a single charge and can gain 200 miles in just 15 minutes with rapid charging.
The 'Type 00' name, symbolizing "zero emissions" and "a copy of nothing," hints that future production models will be named Type 01, Type 02, and Type 03, in homage to iconic Jaguar models like the E-Type from the 1960s, which the Type 00's profile resembles in a more exaggerated manner.
