Solidarity march held on AIDS Day

NAWABSHAH:

 A solidarity walk was organised by Communicable Disease Control (CDC) Sindh on the occasion of World AIDS Day.

The walk started from Kabotar Chowk in front of the Sindh High Court and ended at Peoples Square near Burns Road. Medical experts, transgender community and civil society members participated in the walk.

Additional Director HIV AIDS Sindh, Dr Kanwal Mustafa while addressing the participants of the walk, said that prevention of HIV and prevention of its spread is our common responsibility.

She said that instead of fearing HIV, there is a need to understand it and get it treated. Dr Kanwal said that 28 HIV centers are established across Sindh where free treatment and all medical facilities are provided and eight new centers will be opened soon.
