Despite clear orders from the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi, legal counsels for PTI founding chairman and former premier Imran Khan were denied permission to meet him for the second day at Adiala Jail.
The PTI chairman is in police custody at Adiala Jail under a six-day physical remand in connection with a case related to Sept 28 protests. His detention cell has been designated as part of the New Town Police Station, Rawalpindi.
The ATC had ordered the station house officer (SHO) and the investigating officer (IO) of the New Town Police Station to facilitate the lawyers' meeting with the PTI chairman. However, the court orders were reportedly ignored.
Speaking on the issue, PTI lawyer Faisal Chaudhry stated that the court orders were being disregarded, adding that they would now approach the high court.
