QUETTA/PESHAWAR:

The 57th Youm-e-Tasees (Foundation Day) of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was observed at the Quetta Press Club on Saturday.

The event was graced by Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, along with prominent PPP leaders and workers. The celebration highlighted PPP's commitment to democracy and its sacrifices for strengthening democratic institutions in Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister praised PPP's legacy, stating, "The Pakistan Peoples Party has always been at the forefront of defending democracy in the country. Its leaders and workers have made countless sacrifices to uphold the principles of democratic governance and promote national unity."

PPP leaders also emphasized the party's vision of empowering people through democratic values. "Strengthening democracy is not just a slogan but a responsibility that PPP has carried with dedication since its inception," said one of the party's senior members.

The day was marked with similar functions across the country, reflecting the party's widespread influence and commitment to promoting democratic ideals.

The event concluded with a renewed pledge to work for the prosperity and stability of Pakistan through democratic means.

Meanwhile, a women's convention was held at a local hotel in Peshawar to mark the 57th Foundation Day of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Saturday.

The event was organized by the PPP Women's Wing, with Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) Senator Rubina Khalid, who is also the president of women's wing, attended as the special guest.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of female leaders and workers of the PPP from all over the province including Peshawar.

Senior Vice President and MPA Nilofar Babar, Vice President Ajbar Jadoon, Shahnaz, Asia Khattak, as well as provincial cabinet and city officials were present on the occasion.

Senator Rubina Khalid congratulating the party leadership and workers on the Foundation Day, said that 57-year history of the PPP is a story of democratic struggle and sacrifices. She said that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto formed the PPP and turned politics as the platform to benefit the oppressed and deprived classes.

She said that the PPP made sacrifices for democracy against dictatorship by making common people the source of power. This is the reason why the PPP is still rooted in the people. She expressed trust on the party's leadership, maintaining that its leaders made the country a nuclear power, and played a central role in shaping the 1973 Constitution.
