SARAI MUGHAL:

A wedding celebration in Halla, Sarai Mughal, turned into a nightmare when dozens of individuals allegedly attacked the ceremony, injuring several guests and hosts, including women, and causing significant losses.

As per a complaint filed by Amir Mushtaq, a relative of the groom, at Sarai Mughal police station, the incident occurred as guests were leaving the wedding hall near Halla.

A group of individuals, identified as Shaban, Niamat Shaheen, Imran, Sami, Hanif, Faizan, Noman, and others, allegedly closed the hall gates and attacked when confronted by the hosts and guests.

The attackers reportedly used sticks to assault at-tendees, leaving seven individuals, including women, seriously injured.

Among the victims was a pregnant woman, whose injuries reportedly caused a miscarriage.

The assailants also stole valuables, including gold jewellery worth Rs250,000 from a woman named Parveen and Rs16,000 in cash from another guest, Raziq. They allegedly kidnapped the groom's brother, Iqbal, tortured him, and later released him.

Amir Mushtaq stated that the violence erupted over a minor disagreement and escalated without justification.
