The District Health Authority (DHA) has initiated registrations for the Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Insulin Programme, which provides free insulin to children under 14 years suffering from diabetes.
Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) clinics have been established in Tehsil and District Headquarters Hospitals (THQsDHQs) across Rawalpindi district, including Kahuta, Gujar Khan, Kallar Syedan, Taxila, Kotli Sattian, and Murree.
According to DHA Chief Executive Officer Dr Asif Arbab Niazi, parents can register their children by visiting these clinics, calling 1033, or using the programme's mobile app. Once registered, insulin and glucometers, packed in ice packs, will be delivered directly to patients' homes.
The programme also offers counselling sessions for parents to guide them on precautionary measures and create a supportive environment to help children manage their condition.
Dr Niazi emphasised that the programme addresses the growing number of diabetes cases among children, ensuring they receive essential treatments to maintain a healthy lifestyle. He added that arrangements are complete, and the provision of supplies will commence once the data is compiled.
