ISLAMABAD:

The Chairman of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), Dr. Raja Ali Raza Anwar, said on Thursday that Pakistan is effectively utilizing nuclear science and technology across sectors like healthcare, agriculture, and energy to address climate change challenges and improve citizens' quality of life.

Speaking at the three-day IAEA Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Science, Technology, and Applications, held at the IAEA headquarters in Vienna, Austria, Dr. Anwar presented Pakistan's national statement. He highlighted that humanity faces critical challenges, including climate change, water and food scarcity, rising energy demands, and environmental degradation.

Dr. Anwar emphasized that nuclear science and technology offer solutions to these issues, benefiting both humanity and the planet.

He noted that Pakistan, heavily impacted by climate change, is mitigating its effects by adopting nuclear technologies, such as establishing Nuclear Power Generation Plants to produce clean, carbon-neutral energy.
