Joe Budden has once again made waves with his scathing criticism of Drake, this time implying that the real reason behind the feud between the Toronto rapper and renowned producer Metro Boomin is far more personal than previously thought.

During his latest rant on The Joe Budden Podcast, the former rapper didn’t hold back, calling Drake a “selfish, lying, manipulative sack of sh*t” and delving into some behind-the-scenes drama that could explain the ongoing tension between the two.

Budden, who has long been an outspoken critic of Drake, further accused him of using underhanded tactics in both his professional and personal life.

“You have been behind the scenes being the biggest sack of sh*t you could possibly be,” Budden said, describing a range of alleged actions including Drake’s reported involvement with other artists' significant others.

“You have been behind the scenes hittin’ nias baby moms, sending money to nias baby moms… sending messages to this ni**as wife,” Budden claimed. But it was his next comment that caught the most attention: He hinted that Drake’s insensitivity toward Metro Boomin’s personal tragedy was the spark that led to the falling out between the two.

Budden implied that Drake's reaction to the death of Metro Boomin’s mother, Leslie Wayne, in a 2022 murder-suicide, was callous and dismissive.

“‘Ay, but this ni**as mom died,’ ‘Hey all that’s cool, but where my beat at, ni**a? I don’t give a f**k that your mom died,’” Budden alleged. “Dog, this guy has been a sack of sh*t behind the scenes.”

This comment has led fans and observers to speculate that the tragic event in Metro’s life could be the true cause of the rift, one that the producer has previously alluded to without going into specifics.

In a recent interview with GQ, Metro discussed the situation, stating, “Me and Drake, we had a personal issue and, for the record, not over no girl or anything silly like that. It was a personal issue that really hurt me and disappointed me.”

While Metro refused to elaborate on the details of their conflict, his comments leave room for speculation that Drake’s alleged insensitivity played a key role.

Metro added, “I regret how I handled the situation online... I should have been stronger than that. That was out of character for me.” The “We Trust You” producer also noted that the back-and-forth on social media, including the infamous "BBL Drizzy" beat challenge, wasn’t the most mature way to handle the issue, but he felt compelled to respond after Drake’s public shots.

Fans, however, have jumped to Metro’s defense, interpreting Budden’s comments as a valid reason for the breakdown in their relationship.

“'IDC that n**a mom died... send my beat,' if that's Metro beef with Drake that's valid. Drake deserved that sht. That's some cold sh*t bruh,” one user wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Another added, “Nah if he really said that to Metro I get why he went and got Kendrick.”

Metro has yet to directly respond to Joe Budden’s latest remarks, but the implication of such a serious personal grievance adds another layer of drama to the already contentious relationship between Drake and Metro Boomin.
