LAHORE:

A writ petition was filed in Lahore High Court (LHC) challenging appointment of deputy prime minister Ishaq Dar seeking direction to concerned quarters to set aside his appointment which is unlawful and unconstitutional. Petitioner Tanveer Sarwar filed this plea making respondents to federal government and others contending there is no such designation in the Constitution of Pakistan.

He contended that Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Shehbaz Sharif appointed him as deputy prime minister which against the real essence of the constitution.

He also questioned the privileges given to him as protocol of the deputy prime minister. He requested the court to set aside his appointment and restrain him from rendering his services till the final decision of this case.
