Ariana Grande recently celebrated a heartfelt family moment, bringing her grandmother, Marjorie “Nonna” Grande, to a screening of Wicked at a theater in Boca Raton, Florida. The Wicked star, 31, shared several Instagram posts documenting the experience, crediting her boyfriend, Ethan Slater, for capturing the touching moments.
In one photo, Ariana, her brother Frankie, 41, and Nonna sat together in the theater where Ariana spent many childhood weekends. “Flew to Boca for a day to watch with Nonna at the movie theater I grew up going to,” Ariana captioned the photo, tagging Slater and Frankie. Another photo highlighted Nonna’s enthusiastic reaction to a scene, with Ariana noting her grandmother’s exclamation, “Oh, I LOVE that,” during a standout drum solo.
Ariana also shared a video of the family holding hands while watching her performance of “Popular.” Her mother, Joan Grande, commented on the post, expressing her emotional response to the moment, calling it unforgettable.
Marjorie Grande, the matriarch of the Grande family, has been a prominent figure in Ariana’s life, often accompanying her to major events like the 2014 VMAs and the 2015 American Music Awards. In 2024, Marjorie made history as the oldest person to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, appearing as a featured artist on Ariana’s album Eternal Sunshine.
Ariana and Ethan Slater, who portrays Boq in Wicked, began dating after meeting during production. Ariana praised Slater’s performance, calling him “amazing” and expressing happiness that audiences are getting to know him better.
Wicked: Part One is now playing in theaters, continuing to captivate fans with its magical performances and heartfelt connections both on and off-screen.
