Educational institutions to remain closed in twin cities on Wednesday

Protests by PTI, led to road closures, heightened security measures, continue to disrupt normal life in both cities

Authorities in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have announced the closure of all educational institutions on November 27, due to ongoing protests by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi, Hassan Waqar Cheema, issued a notification stating that in light of the current law and order situation and recommendations from the District Intelligence Committee, all public and private schools in the Rawalpindi district will remain closed on Monday.

The federal capital’s administration also confirmed the closure of schools for a third consecutive day. The notification applies to both public and private educational institutions across Islamabad.

In his statement, the district administration cited security concerns and the current volatile situation as the reason for the extended school closures.

Protests by PTI, which have led to road closures and heightened security measures, continue to disrupt normal life in both cities. Previous notices had already closed schools until November 26, with this new decision extending the closures due to the ongoing uncertainty.

Authorities have implemented stringent security measures across key areas, particularly around protest locations, in response to the growing unrest.
