A speedboat with seven people on board capsized in the sea after hitting a rock. The boat had left the city's coastal location of Ibrahim Hyderi to participate in an annual fair near Phitti Creek.
Four people including the captain of the boat - Bilal - were rescued while three passengers of the boat including two real brothers identified as Nabeel and Sameer drowned. Body of Nabeel was fished out while search for Sameer and another person was on.
The victims of the accident were the residents of Ibrahim Hyderi. The rescued individuals are all from the same family and have been identified as Waqas Shafi, Ahmed Shafi, Pervaiz Shafi, and Ali Muhammad Shafi.
Sources reported that the accident occurred when the boat collided with a construction block in the sea due to the darkness late in the night. The speedboat was also destroyed in the accident.
