Punjab's largest flower nursery blossoms
Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has prepared Punjab's largest flower nursery on an area of 1,000 kanals in Gorakhpur near Adiala Road.
The nursery has started preparing all types of spring flowers of Pakistani origin and foreign countries. The flowers for spring will be ready in the first week of February next year and all types of spring flowers will be planted in 44 small and large parks, roadsides, gardens and orchards across the city.
Rainy season and winter flower plants have been planted in recreational parks across the city. With this, the beautification of recreational parks across the city has also been completed.
PHA Director General Ahmed Hassan Ranjha visited the PHA nursery and reviewed the plants and flowers grown in the nursery.
He said that all types of flowers and beautiful decorative plants are being prepared for home gardens besides parks and recreational places in the nursery. "These plants will be provided to the citizens of Rawalpindi at very cheap prices. Flower plants are being prepared in large numbers for small and large home gardens," he added.
Ranjha further said that with the flowers it has prepared, PHA has completed the beautification of Allama Iqbal Park and Shahbaz Sharif Park. "All types of flowers have been grown in these parks. New flowers will also be planted for the upcoming spring tree-planting campaign," he added.
The PHA DG said that the authority would provide flower plants prepared at the local level to all government offices including the Pakistan Army free of charge, adding these plants would also be planted on the green belts and roads of Rawalpindi.
