The home of Nikita Hand, who recently won a €250,000 civil assault case against MMA fighter Conor McGregor, was violently targeted by a masked gang on June 14, 2024. The incident, involving smashed windows and a stabbing, came to light during Hand’s trial but was ultimately ruled inadmissible by the court.

Hand’s legal counsel, John Gordon, revealed details of the break-in during the trial. According to Gordon, masked men broke into Hand’s bedroom, attacked her boyfriend, and fled after inflicting a stab wound. Hand’s daughter was sleeping in a nearby room during the ordeal. While Gordon did not directly implicate McGregor, he suggested the attack was linked to Hand’s legal actions against the fighter. “This was not an untargeted attack,” he stated, attributing it to supporters of McGregor.

McGregor’s barrister, Remy Farrell, argued the incident was irrelevant to the case and warned against inviting speculation. The judge concurred, excluding the break-in from consideration, citing its lack of direct relevance to the assault claims.

Irish police have confirmed they are investigating the aggravated burglary, with Hand’s boyfriend sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. No arrests have been made.

The incident underscores the risks faced by individuals pursuing legal actions in contentious cases. While McGregor denies the allegations and is appealing the assault ruling, the masked gang’s actions highlight the need for stronger protections for accusers in high-profile trials. Investigations into the break-in remain ongoing.
