PARIS:

Sikhs and Kashmiris held a joint protest demonstration in Paris against the ongoing genocide of Sikhs in India since 1984.

After the assassination of former Prime Minister of India Indra Ghandhi in 1984, around 17,000 Sikhs were killed at various places under a systematic plan under state patronage. From October 31 to November 3, 1984, a total of around 17,000 Sikhs were killed in different areas of major Indian cities like Haryana, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Sikhs living around the world hold anti-India protests every year in November against this massacre. Sikhs and Kashmiris held a joint rally and protest demonstration in Paris on Sunday to condemn this massacre.

The rally was also addressed by Zahid Hashmi, President of the International Kashmir Peace Forum Europe, and Sikh leaders. Zahid Hashmi said that Sikhs and Kashmiris want justice and freedom from India. The world should help Kashmiris and Sikhs. India is not only killing Sikhs and Kashmiris but has also violated their rights.
