QAZI AHMED: Four people suffered severe burn injuries in a devastating fire at an illegal fuel depot at Mashakh Stop near Qazi Ahmed on National Highway.

The blaze in the smuggled and stolen petrol and diesel stock went quickly engulfed the entire depot and adjacent shops.

The victims, identified as Sawan Zardari, Yaseen Zardari, Mehboob Ali Sher and Muhammad Chandio, sustained severe burns as a result of the fire. They were rushed to the small towns Taluka Hospital.

Meanwhile, Sawan Zardari and Yaseen Zardari were transported to Nawabshah in critical condition.

On information, the fire brigade personnel reached the spot and contained the fire after several hours of tireless efforts. It is to be noted that a significant number of illegal oil depots are operating on the National highway, where due to lack of safety measures such fire incidents have become common. Officials of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had written a letter to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Nawabshah directing him to take action against these illegal depots, however, till now, no implementation of the orders of OGRA officials has been initiated.
