Dengue cases decline as temperatures dip

The anti-dengue campaign in Rawalpindi has struggled to fully curb the spread of the mosquito-borne disease, but the changing weather is finally bringing relief.

Over the past 24 hours, only 34 new dengue cases were confirmed, marking a significant drop in infections.

The number of hospitalised dengue patients now stands at 130, with the total death toll for the season reaching 16.

Since the start of this dengue season, Rawalpindi district has reported 6,110 confirmed cases.

In the last 24 hours, 9 cases were reported from Potohar Town, 11 from Municipal Corporation areas, 5 from Rawalpindi Cantonment, 3 from Chaklala Cantonment, 4 from Potohar Rural, and one case each from Gujar Khan and Kallar Syedan.

So far, 6,080 FIRs have been registered for violations of dengue SOPs, and 1,894 properties have been sealed.
