A Florida mother, Kelsie Glover, appeared to smirk as deputies escorted her during a perp walk Wednesday night, following a violent incident earlier that day that ended in the death of her 14-year-old daughter, Giselle Glover.
Authorities arrested Glover, 33, on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery, with additional charges pending the investigation.
Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez revealed that deputies responded to reports of Glover chasing witnesses with a hammer inside her Poinciana home. Witnesses claimed they saw Glover allegedly hold her daughter’s head underwater in a bathtub until she became unresponsive. When they tried to intervene, Glover reportedly turned her aggression toward them.
“It’s a dark day when things like this happen,” Sheriff Lopez said during a press briefing. “What happened to her was unimaginable, and we are determined to get justice for Giselle.” Deputies at the scene attempted life-saving measures, but Giselle was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Four people were inside the home during the incident: Glover, her daughter, another child, and a roommate. Giselle’s father was not present but has been informed of her death. Sheriff Lopez noted that while no prior domestic violence incidents involved Giselle, Glover had a previous charge of battery against her husband.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities await the medical examiner’s report to determine the cause of death. The case has left the community reeling, with many questioning how such a tragedy could occur unnoticed.
