The world’s tallest woman, Rumeysa Gelgi, and the shortest woman, Jyoti Amge, met for the first time to celebrate the 20th annual Guinness World Records Day.

Gelgi, a 27-year-old advocate from Turkey, stands at 7-foot-7.1 inches, while Amge, a 30-year-old actress from India, is 2-foot-7. Their meeting highlighted the diversity and connections celebrated by Guinness World Records.

In a heartwarming exchange, Gelgi greeted Amge with, “You are so beautiful,” to which Amge replied, “Thank you, you too.” The two bonded over shared interests, including self-care, makeup, and jewelry, and were filmed sipping tea and enjoying a lively conversation.

Both women are icons in the Guinness World Records' 70th-anniversary edition. Gelgi, named the tallest teenager at 17 and tallest woman in 2021, expressed her joy: “It’s an indescribable feeling.” Amge, honored as the shortest teenager in 2009 and confirmed as the shortest woman in 2011, added, “I can’t explain how happy I am!”

Their meeting showcased an inspiring celebration of individuality and connection, marking a memorable milestone in Guinness World Records history.
