Trevor Jacob, a YouTuber previously sentenced to six months in federal prison for staging a plane crash, has reuploaded the controversial video that triggered his legal troubles.

The video, titled ‘I crashed my plane,’ initially went viral in January 2022 but drew widespread criticism after viewers accused him of faking the crash for views.

Following an investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Jacob’s pilot license was revoked in April 2022. By late 2023, he was convicted of deliberately causing the crash and tampering with evidence, leading to his prison sentence.

Since his release, Jacob resumed uploading content on November 1, 2024, including the infamous plane crash video in full. This decision reignited criticism, with many viewers expressing disappointment. Comments ranged from calling the reupload “distasteful” to questioning why he would revisit such a controversial act.

One viewer wrote, “Weird that he re-uploaded this considering he spent 6 months in federal prison for lying to authorities and destroying the evidence…Some people never learn.” Another added, “We all know that it’s fake now, so why would you repost it?”

Jacob also revealed in a separate video that YouTube demonetized his channel for harmful content and temporarily removed one of his other uploads. Despite the backlash, the video remains live, continuing to stir debate across social media.
