PESHAWAR:

A horrific incident took place on Peshawar's busiest thoroughfare, University Road, outside the Customs House gate, where a father was ruthlessly murdered in front of his young children.

Irfanullah, a Grade 18 officer with the Inland Revenue Department in Peshawar, shot Afghan citizen Abdul Rahman over a dispute regarding a car transaction.

The victim fell to the ground, after being shot bleeding profusely, and died in front of his children. A video of this tragic incident went viral on social media, showing the children crying by their father's side.

The killer, Irfanullah, a resident of Babu Zai in Swat, had recently been posted to a senior position at the Peshawar tax office. After the murder outside the Customs House, the nearby Town Police Station took immediate action, arresting the suspect along with the murder weapon.

According to SP Cantt, Attezaz Arif, the killer was a drug addict, and narcotics were found on him at the time of his arrest. Initially, the cause of the murder appears to be a dispute over the car, which had led to a heated argument between the killer and the victim a few days earlier.

When the children arrived at the Customs Office with their father, Irfanullah allegedly shot him. This was stated by the widow of the deceased in her FIR. She further explained that her husband had been called to the office by the killer via WhatsApp. She added Irfanullah and his son were present and murdered her husband.

An Afghan child, just 12 years old, became a key eyewitness to the murder of his father. The boy provided the police with information about the incident, and the widow of the deceased will personally pursue the case. Based on the widow's statement, a murder case was registered at the University Town police station, and investigations have started.
