Sports legends Jahangir, Islah praise blind cricket team

'Pak blind cricketers have always displayed superb performances'

Squash legend Jahangir Khan and former hockey captain Islahuddin Siddiqui on Monday welcomed the blind cricket teams from different countries who have arrived in Pakistan for the 4th T20 Blind Cricket World Cup, commencing from Saturday, Nov 23rd.

"I congratulate the Chairman of Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) Syed Sultan Shah and his entire team for hosting this mega event," said Jahangir while speaking to the media.

"I hope that the successful organisation of this event will be a huge boost for Pakistan blind cricket team, its players and the PBCC and will earn them recognition at the international level."

"I pray for the victory of my team and wish to ask the people of Pakistan to support them and encourage them," added Jahangir.

Olympian Islahuddin said that sports is the best way to win hearts. "Pakistani players who represent the country in any sport are a source of pride for us," he said.

"While visually impaired people have shown the essence of their ability in IT and other technical fields, our blind cricketers who have fine skills and a high morale, have also made the country famous by showing superb performance in world cricket events."

"Blind cricketers and organizers who have uplifted the dignity of Pakistan are our heroes," said Islah. "I pray for the success of Pakistan team for the Blind Cricket World Cup and hope our players show their full potential to raise the green flag like they did in the past."
