The Department of Environment Protection and Climate Change organised a seminar on "Negative Environmental and Health Impacts of Single Use Plastics" under the umbrella of Punjab Green Development Programme, which is an initiative supported by the World Bank.
The seminar was attended by participants from various sectors including large retailers, plastic producers, students, media, civil society organisations and businessmen. Rawalpindi Assistant Commissioner Coordination, Abdullah Ghazi, appealed to the people to support the government on the measures regarding single-use plastics.
On this occasion, scholars of NUST University and Allama Iqbal Open University, Dr Muhammad Saleem and Dr Musharb Khan informed the participants about the harmful effects of single-use plastics.
