Lahore, Multan schools reopen today

LAHORE:

The Punjab government has decided to open all educational institutions in Lahore and Multan from Wednesday.

According to a notification issued by the environment department, the school opening time is 8:45am.

The schools have been advised to let students of different classes leave at different times to reduce traffic.

The intensity of smog has decreased in Punjab, while the atmosphere in Lahore and Multan is still polluted.

Lahore's AQI was recorded at 252, while the pollution level in Multan was 286.

The environment protection department has instructed all students and teachers to wear masks, while outdoor sports and other extracurricular activities are prohibited.

All hotels and restaurants have been allowed to remain open until 10:00pm, while home delivery services will not be restricted.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted mainly dry and cold weather in the provincial metropolis and other districts, while smog is likely to prevail over plain areas.
