Delta partners with Shake Shack to serve signature cheeseburgers on flights
Delta Airlines is partnering with Shake Shack to bring the popular burger chain’s iconic cheeseburgers to First Class passengers on select flights. The collaboration will launch on December 1, starting with flights out of Boston, and will expand to other U.S. markets throughout 2025.
First Class passengers on routes over 900 miles will be able to pre-select the Shake Shack Cheeseburger as their meal option, alongside a Caesar salad, chips, and a dark chocolate brownie. The cheeseburger features a 100% Angus beef patty, cheese, and a toasted potato bun. Toppings such as lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce will be served on the side for customization.
“A delicious cheeseburger is an iconic comfort food – our customers know that, which is why burgers are one of the top-ordered menu items we offer,” said Stephanie Laster, Delta’s Managing Director of Onboard Service. “We’re thrilled to elevate the offering with Shake Shack.” She also emphasized that Shake Shack’s “people-first culture” aligns with Delta’s values of service excellence and community engagement.
Shake Shack’s President of Global Licensing, Michael Kark, highlighted the innovative nature of the partnership. “At Shake Shack, we’re always looking for new and innovative ways to meet our guests where they are, even at 35,000 feet,” Kark said.
Passengers can pre-select their Shake Shack Cheeseburger through the Fly Delta app or a link in their email, starting seven days before departure and up to 24 hours before their flight.
The collaboration builds on Delta’s existing partnership with Union Square Hospitality Group, which provides meals for select flights out of JFK, as the airline continues to enhance its dining program with seasonal offerings and award-winning chefs.
