Fire in hotel room creates panic
A fire broke out in a room on the third floor of Hotel Mehran on Sharae Faisal causing panic among guests and staff.
Smoke filled in the building causing difficulties to the fire fighters and rescue team. However, the fire fighters doused the flames after hectic efforts of about 90 minutes.
The police also reached the spot and participated in the operation to rescue hotel guests and staff, trapped in the building. No injuries or loss of the life was reported. Police and rescuers evacuated the guests and staff per the fire drill routine.
According to Korangi Fire Station Officer, Zafar Khan, the fire broke out in room number 314 of the third floor of the hotel. Due to the fire, all the furniture and other goods in the room got burnt. Firefighters of KMC and Rescue 1122 jointly brought the fire under control, a short circuit may be cause of a fire. So far no one has been injured nor has anyone had any breathing problem. The cooling process is also going on, after the fire incident in the hotel, the events organized in the hotel were cancelled.
Office gutted in fire
An office, located on the second floor in a building near New Chali, burnt to ashes when a fire broke out on Monday. Seeing the flames, one person jumped off the first floor of the building and sustained minor injuries.Rescue team and three fire tenders of KMC rushed to the spot and doused the flames. The building has no emergency exits and smoke vents.
