Do you abhor going to the gym? Want to stay home and cling to the sofa? Are you interested in partaking in activities more suited to the sedentary lifestyle? If you answered yes to all of the above, you may have a kindred spirit in A-lister Mahira Khan.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, the Legend of Maula Jatt star posted a picture of herself clad in a traditional white outfit and jewellery, radiating timeless classic beauty in muted colours. The one thing she did not radiate? Exercise vibes. And for good reason, too.

"Yes, well, we don't go to the gym," captioned Mahira in Urdu, tongue firmly in cheek. "We light a candle and listen to old songs instead."

As a true testament to her star power, Mahira's subtle take-down of the gym has already racked up over 200,000 likes in one day – although not all of her followers agree with her take on working out. Actor and singer Azaan Sami Khan (son of the musician Adnan Sami) could not resist offering his own contrasting gym-loving views.

"Stop it," wrote the Ishq E Laa actor in response to Mahira's caption. "Enough. Go to the gym. I've been saying this for eight years now." Lest anyone felt he was holding back, Azaan also added a forehead-slapping emoji to make himself clear.

Azaan, it appears, was a lone voice in the comments section speaking up for gyms as Mahira's relatable post resonated with her fans in a way that a pro-workout sermon never could.

"Aaaahahahaha this is the energy I needed today!! Candles, chai and puranay ganay [old songs]," penned one amused follower. Another equally enthusiastic fan added, added, "This is the validation we needed!"

All of which proves that Mahira's true star power lies in not just her beauty and film roster, but her indelible relatability with her fans.
