KARACHI:

The Forest and Wildlife Department has issued a notification regarding the establishment of 'Sindh Wildlife Conservation and Development Fund' with the approval of the competent authority under the 'Sindh Wildlife Protection, Preservation, Conservation and Management Act 2020' and 'Rules 2022'.

As per the notification, the amount required for the fund will be obtained from non-governmental organisations (NGOs), as well as international and other sources instead of putting burden on government treasury.

The notification further mentions that the amount, collected for the fund, would be deposited in the bank and profits, generated from the amount, would be used. A council will be tasked to supervise the financial affairs of the fund. The aim of this initiative is to provide the required resources for the protection and development of wildlife in the province.
