DERA GHAZI KHAN:

Law enforcement agencies pushed backed terrorists from the areas adjacent to Punjab's border with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa in a joint intelligence-based operation (IBO).

It was the second shootout along the provincial boundary during the past week. Dera Ghazi Khan District Police Officer Syed Ali said information had been received about the presence of suspected terrorists in the Marha and Jadey Wali areas with a plan to enter Punjab.

He said the operation was conducted by the police, Rangers, CTD and special teams. The suspects had been hiding in a mosque and they left the area after an exchange of fire, the official said.
