Natasha Noorani delighted alternate music fans by releasing her EP Club Sandwich on Friday. Available to stream on Spotify, the musician's latest offering consists of three tracks: Mithi Gal, Nasha and Bol Unhein.
The release of Club Sandwich was twinned with the release of the official music video for Bol Unhein. Radiating retro '90s vibes with its simple execution blending seamlessly with Natasha's sunglasses and baggy shirt, the video has already garnered over 2,000 views in one day.
Natasha shared news of the release on her Instagram handle and gave a shout-out to her tight-knit team in her caption. Distributed by SIREN, the singer credited Talal Qureshi as the producer, with Abdullah Saleem in charge of filming. Designer and engineer Zeerak Ahmed not only assisted in the writing but also provided "emotional support and vibe check", according to Natasha's caption. Musician and producer Abdullah Siddiqui, meanwhile, provided "additional emotional support", leading one tongue-in-cheek viewer in the YouTube comments section to note, "Emotional support. I am that dude in groups."
Other viewers adored the ironically simple video, which looks as though it has been filmed with a rudimentary camera using a fish-eye lens and, rather bizarrely, guidelines on the screen to help you park a car. "Is that a car reverse view camera?" posed one commenter. Seemingly thinking along the same lines, another added, "No way is she calling this an official video when it has been filmed with the reverse camera." Showing their comment was firmly tongue-in-cheek, the fan added, "No hate to the girl," along with a heart emoji.
Regardless of the type of camera used to film Bol Unhein (or perhaps because of it), it is clear that fans of the alternate music scene have welcomed Natasha's comeback.
