Jake Paul outpoints 58-year-old Mike Tyson in Netflix-streamed Texas showdown

Netflix's first-ever live sports event culminated in a thrilling showdown as Jake Paul defeated Mike Tyson via unanimous decision after eight intense rounds.

Held at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the historic fight marked a significant moment for both boxing and streaming.

Paul, 27, expressed humility in victory, stating, "First and foremost, Mike Tyson … it’s such an honor. Let’s give it up for Mike, he’s a legend. He’s the greatest to ever do it. He’s the GOAT. I look up to him, I’m inspired by him, and we wouldn’t be here today without him."

The 58-year-old Tyson, who last fought professionally 19 years ago, reflected on his performance, saying, "I didn’t prove nothing to anybody, only to myself." He also praised Paul’s abilities, admitting, "He’s a very good fighter."

The event featured star-studded commentary and presentation from Roy Jones Jr., Cedric the Entertainer, Kate Abdo, and Rosie Perez. Netflix also debuted a companion docuseries, 'Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson,' detailing the fighters' preparation for the match.

The fight card included three preliminary matches. Neeraj Goyat claimed victory over Whindersson Nunes in a super middleweight battle, while Mario Barrios retained the WBC welterweight title in a split draw against Abel Ramos.

The co-main event, a rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, saw Taylor victorious.

Despite the spectacle, many fans took to social media to express frustration over technical issues with Netflix's live stream, citing buffering and video lagging during the broadcast.
