Nawaz scoffs at Imran's 'final call'

Nawaz also accused Imran Khan of colluding with judges like Saqib Nisar to orchestrate his 2016 disqualification.

PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif has once again voiced his grievances over the ousting of his government, accusing former military chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa and ex-ISI chief Faiz Hameed of conspiring with former prime minister Imran Khan to inflict "unprecedented injustices" against him.

Addressing the media in London, Nawaz asserted, "I fail to understand the logic behind Khan sahib's statements. He, along with General Bajwa and Faiz Hameed, left no stone unturned in conspiring against me. If anyone has endured the worst injustices, it is us."

Reacting to Imran Khan's call for a "final protest" from behind bars, he questioned why people would heed the call of a leader who, he claimed, brought "disrepute to the country" during his nearly four-year tenure.

"What did Imran Khan achieve during his term that would motivate people to protest for him? Can he point to a single development project he can take pride in?" Nawaz said.

"Did he construct a motorway, bring major projects, establish power plants, or resolve the energy crisis? His performance is zero."

Nawaz also accused the jailed PTI leader of prioritising conspiracies over development, alleging that Imran also colluded with judges like Saqib Nisar to orchestrate his disqualification in 2016.

Commenting on his personal hardships, the three-time former prime minister recalled, "I was informed of my wife's death while I was in jail. Despite enduring such brutalities, do they have the audacity to taunt us? A democratically elected government was overthrown through judicial manipulation. They have done nothing but tarnish Pakistan's credibility."

In contrast, Nawaz lauded his brother and incumbent premier, Shehbaz Sharif, for his efforts to stabilise the economy. "Pakistan has overcome its challenges and is now on the path to prosperity," he said.
