Rapper Lil Durk, whose real name is Durk Devontay Banks, has hired prominent attorney Drew Findling to represent him in a high-profile federal murder-for-hire case.

On November 14, 2024, Lil Durk entered a not-guilty plea to charges alleging he orchestrated a plot against rival rapper Quando Rondo.

The case has drawn significant attention, not only for the severity of the allegations but also for the high-profile attorney now defending the Grammy-winning artist.

Drew Findling, a renowned criminal defense lawyer from Atlanta, has an impressive track record, having represented figures such as Donald Trump, Cardi B, Gucci Mane, and Offset.

Known as the "Billion Dollar Lawyer," Findling has also worked on cases for Quavo, Waka Flocka Flame, and NBA YoungBoy. Commenting on his approach to case selection in an earlier interview, Findling stated, "We do not in any way distinguish how we select cases. We don’t choose cases or not take cases because of the race of our client, the ethnicity of our client, the substantive charge, or the political views of the client."

According to prosecutors, the allegations against Lil Durk include placing a bounty on Quando Rondo in 2022, which reportedly resulted in the murder of Rondo's cousin.

Court filings claim that Durk paid for five individuals to travel from Chicago to California to carry out the act. The rapper now faces charges including conspiracy, murder-for-hire, and the use of firearms in a crime of violence.

Durk was arrested last month at Miami International Airport while allegedly attempting to flee the country.

Authorities discovered he had booked international flights to Italy, Switzerland, and Dubai. Currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles, he awaits a bond hearing set for December 12, where prosecutors are expected to argue that he is a flight risk.

Findling's involvement underscores the gravity of the case. The attorney, recognized by Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter for his influence in the entertainment industry, previously defended Waka Flocka Flame in a gun charge case and Quavo in an assault charge.

Findling has also been vocal about his professional philosophy, remarking, "If not me, then who else? I think if one of us starts doing that, then the system collapses."

Lil Durk’s legal battles and Findling’s reputation for defending high-profile clients make this case one to watch.
