The beloved cartoon character Popeye is taking a terrifying turn in a new horror movie slated for release in January 2025. Produced by ITN Studios, this gory and raunchy slasher reimagines Popeye as a brutal maniac haunting a group of camp counselors planning to open a summer camp. Directed by William Stead and produced by Rene August, the film features Steven Murphy in the lead role as the twisted version of Popeye.

The official plot synopsis teases a gruesome storyline filled with carnage, while first-look images reveal a beefed-up Popeye ready to wreak havoc. ITN Studios has confirmed that this film is unrelated to the "Poohniverse" but shares the same darkly creative reimaginings of public domain characters.

Fans can expect a trailer and an official release date in the coming weeks. With its unique take on a childhood favorite, the Popeye horror movie is poised to captivate slasher enthusiasts and nostalgia-driven audiences alike.
