Rumors of an alleged feud between singers Lana Del Rey and Lizzo were recently debunked after satirical posts on social media went viral. The account responsible, Drop Pop, which posted a collage on the platform X on November 14, sparked the speculation by sharing fake interactions between the artists. The image showed fabricated comments, with one attributed to Lizzo saying, “I’d like to see you back on the charts,” while a response supposedly from Del Rey stated, “I would love to see you run a treadmill.”
The post quickly gained traction, amassing over 7.7 million views within 24 hours. However, the feud claims were swiftly debunked. Drop Pop’s account, which describes itself as a “parody account,” stated in its bio, “Everything posted on the account is satirical and for humorous purposes,” cautioning that none of its content should be taken seriously. Community notes under the viral posts on X further labeled the comments as fabricated and false.
The parody account continued to stir interest with a follow-up post displaying additional fictitious exchanges, including Lizzo allegedly writing, “I hope that alligator eats your big a*s,” with Del Rey supposedly responding, “You’d know about eating biggie.” These comments, like the original, were confirmed to be fabricated and did not appear on either artist’s official TikTok or X accounts.
While Drop Pop has been known for satirical content, this recent post drew considerable attention due to its realism, misleading many fans. This isn’t the first instance of the account’s posts being taken seriously, as previous content from Drop Pop has included similar humorous but unfounded claims about other celebrities.
