Suicide bomber blows up near police van in Charsadda, no casualties reported

A suicide bomber detonated his explopsives device as a police van drove nearby, without causing any damage or injuries in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province's Charsadda district, local authorities reported.

The blast occurred close to a police station in the Umarzai area, near Akhun Dheri.

Officials stated that the bomber set off the explosives shortly after the police vehicle passed by.

Police confirmed the explosion's impact was minimal, as no bystanders were nearby.

The sound of the blast echoed through surrounding areas, causing alarm among residents. Evidence, including a small amount of cash and an identification card, was recovered from the site.

A large police contingent reached the blast site and cordoned off the area as an investigation into the incident went underway.

Security personnel were combing the area to clear.
