ATC cancels arrest warrants of PTI leader
An anti-terrorism court cancelled the arrest warrants issued for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central leader and National Assembly member Sheikh Waqas Akram.
The decision, made by ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah, also directed the police to refrain from arresting or harassing the PTI leader.
The warrants, originally issued on November 4, related to charges of rioting, vandalism and arson.
The allegations stem from an October 5 protest in Hassan Abdal, where Akram, along with a large procession, travelled from Peshawar to Islamabad for a planned sit-in, sparking clashes within police jurisdiction.
