Actress and host Juggun Kazim has clarified her recent viral video in which she was seen kissing the hand of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shahrbano.
The video had sparked criticism on social media, prompting Kazim to explain her actions during a podcast appearance with host Ahmed Ali Butt.
Kazim shared that her gesture was a mark of respect and gratitude towards ASP Shehrbano for her efforts against domestic abuse. Recalling her past experiences with abuse in a previous relationship, Kazim explained that she felt compelled to thank the officer, who has been actively supporting victims of similar situations.
The video, originally from her own programme, quickly circulated online, drawing both attention and mixed reactions.
Addressing the backlash, Kazim expressed that her intention was to honour ASP Shehrbano’s work and convey her personal appreciation.
Will ASP Shehrbano Naqvi be PCB’s next head of women’s cricket after Tania Malik's exit?
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly considering former Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi for a key position in Pakistan’s women’s cricket management, following the resignation of Tania Malik from her post.
According to media sources, Shehrbano, who is a police officer and is allocated in the Police Services of Pakistan, is regarded as a strong candidate for the role.
PCB is currently evaluating candidates to head the women's cricket department, aiming to fill the vacancy created by Tania’s exit in October 2024.
Shehrbano gained prominence earlier this year when she intervened in a crowded market incident in Lahore’s Ichhra Bazaar, rescuing a woman from an attack.
The incident highlighted her dedication and earned her national recognition.
PCB’s chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, who served as interim Chief Minister of Punjab at the time, is reportedly considering her for the role, influenced by her active public service record during his tenure.
The leadership role in Pakistan women’s cricket became available after Tania, who had held the position since October 2021, announced her resignation.
The board is now actively searching for a replacement, and Shehrbano is seen as a prime candidate for the job.
