A fast-moving jeep fell off the Lyari Expressway after breaking through the safety barriers, killing one and injuring three others seriously.
According to police, the deceased and injured were returning to their home in Gulshan-e-Maymar after a picnic at Hawks Bay when the jeep's tire burst near the Lyari Expressway toll plaza, causing the vehicle to break through the guardrail and roll down.
Details reveal that the tragic incident occurred early on Monday morning in the Shershah police station area, when the jeep, carrying seven young men, lost control and plunged. One young man, identified as 20-year-old Ali Ahmed, died at the scene.
The three critically injured passengers—22-year-old Abdul Ahad, 18-year-old Ramadan, and 20-year-old Ali—were immediately transferred to the Civil Trauma Center by Chhipa Ambulance. All of them were residents of Gulshan-e-Mimar.
Sub-Inspector Mohammad Zaman from Shershah police station said that in total, seven young men were in the jeep, with three suffering severe injuries, and three others sustaining minor cuts.
The group had visited Hawks Bay for a picnic and was heading back to Gulshan-e-Mimar when the tire burst near the toll plaza. The jeep veered off the road, breaking through the guardrail and rolling down, causing significant damage to the vehicle.
