ABBOTTABAD:

Bodies of a husband and wife have been recovered from a well in Abbottabad's Malkaan village two months after they mysteriously disappeared.

According to the local police, the sudden disappearance of the husband-wife duo prompted an investigation.

A spokesperson for the Abbottabad police revealed that the couple was allegedly killed by their son over a family dispute.

He further said the suspect has been taken into custody and an investigation is underway. "Abbottabad police found the couple's bodies two months after they were reported missing," he said.

He further added that the suspect, along with two accomplices, is accused of disposing of his parents' bodies in the well following a family dispute.

The two accomplices are still at large.

Moreover, the bodies of the victims have been retrieved and sent to the hospital for autopsy to fulfil medico-legal formalities.

Meanwhile, police teams have been set up to arrest the two accomplices. Initial investigations suggest that the motive behind the murders is a family dispute. However, the police said they were looking into the matter from various angles.
