Podcasters Ethan and Hila Klein, co-hosts of YouTube’s popular ‘H3 Podcast’, are facing renewed controversy following Hila’s recent comments about former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
Gallant, who was dismissed from his position by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has become a polarizing figure amid the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In a recent podcast episode, Hila referred to Gallant as a “good guy,” noting, “Just the other day Bibi fired a really good guy...that a lot of people are pissed about.” Ethan chimed in, mentioning that Gallant was seen as a “moderating voice” but admitted he knew little about him.
Hila’s remarks quickly sparked backlash, with many criticizing her perceived support of a controversial figure. Addressing the criticism, Hila apologized, saying, “I do understand that was not a good choice of words, and I would not have said that again.” She also announced her temporary departure from the show, citing emotional strain: “So I am stepping away for a little while from being on camera, from being on the podcast. It’s too much and it’s not fair for everybody.” Ethan defended his wife’s decision, stating, “It’s totally cool that you jump ship at the one little misspeak...certainly understandably poor choice of words at that moment.”
This incident adds to recent controversies surrounding the ‘H3 Podcast’. Ethan has also come under scrutiny for allegedly creating a toxic work environment after a critical interaction with an employee, which some viewers perceived as overly harsh.
Furthermore, he remains embroiled in a public feud with Twitch streamer and former co-host Hasan “HasanAbi,” whom he accused of anti-Semitic behavior following their split on the ‘Leftovers’ podcast. Both Ethan and Hila continue to be focal points of heated online discourse amid these ongoing disputes.
