Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi, opening batter Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Hafeez as well as former England captain Michael Vaughan have shared their lauded Pakistan's remarkable second ODI win over Australia in Adelaide on Friday.
This victory marked Pakistan's first-ever ODI win at the Adelaide Oval in 28 years, making it a historic moment for the team and their supporters.
Afridi, forever the passionate supporter of Pakistan cricket, took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share his thoughts: "When a captain inspires, the team fires! What a phenomenal comeback performance by Pakistan in Adelaide – securing our first-ever nine-wicket win over world champions Australia on their home turf! This victory is a huge confidence booster for the ODIs ahead."
The former all-rounder continued, praising the team's standout players: "The word 'marvelous' barely does justice to today's stellar display from Rizwan, Haris, Shaheen, Saim, and Abdullah. Lads, keep believing in yourselves and inshallah even more successes are just around the corner."
Fakhar Zaman also shared on X: "What a massive win! Huge congrats to the boys! Hats off to Haris Rauf and Saim Ayub for their incredible performances! They really brought their A-game."
Meanwhile, former captain Mohammad Hafeez and ex-England skipper Michael Vaughan also shared their thoughts on Pakistan's win at Adelaide.
Hafeez took to the social media platform X to express his excitement. "Congratulations team Pakistan for winning ODI clinically in Australia Levelling the series 1-1. Haris Rauf's superb bowling and Saim Ayub & Abdullah batting is a confidence booster," Hafeez tweeted.
Michael Vaughan, the former England opener, was equally impressed by Pakistan's performance.
Vaughan wrote on X, "Wow... now that's a performance by Pakistan. Saim Ayub looks like a seriously talented player who will be a huge success across all formats for many years to come."
Opening batter Ahmed Shehzad has also lavished praise on the Pakistan team for their exceptional performance, highlighting their outstanding efforts and teamwork.
"Comprehensive Victory for Pakistan XI against Australia in Australia - It's 1-1 now. Come on boys, Just one more to go," Shehzad posted.
