Ottawa's fall chill returns as temperature to drop to single digit over weekend

Ottawa residents can expect a cool autumn weekend after a week of unseasonably high temperatures, with a shift back to more typical November weather. Temperatures climbed to a surprising 20.6°C on Wednesday before slightly cooling to 11°C on Thursday.

According to Environment Canada, Ottawa will see daytime highs of 6°C on Saturday and 7°C on Sunday, with overnight lows dipping to -1°C tonight and a chilly -4°C on Saturday night. Today’s forecast predicts mostly cloudy skies with a 30% chance of showers in the morning and early afternoon, rising to 70% by late afternoon, with a high of 11°C. Skies will clear overnight with lows reaching -1°C.

Saturday brings clear skies and sunshine, with a high of 6°C, while Sunday will be cloudy, reaching a high of 7°C. Monday, Remembrance Day, is expected to be cloudy, with a 60% chance of showers and a high of 13°C. Sunny weather returns Tuesday, with a high of 4°C.

Temperatures this weekend will be in line with seasonal averages of a high of 6°C and a low of -1°C, marking a return to typical fall conditions after an unusually warm week that had some Ottawans questioning if winter was just around the corner.
