The government has significantly increased the superior judicial and house rent allowances for Supreme Court judges, according to a notification issued Thursday by the Ministry of Law and Justice.
Earlier this week, the government had raised the house rent and salaries for high court judges, after the law ministry reportedly recommended revising the house rent allowance from Rs65,000, due to the surge in Islamabad's rental costs.
The notification - signed by acting President Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani - states that the house rent allowance for SC judges has increased from Rs68,000 to Rs350,000.
