Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed the authorities concerned to ensure the best arrangements for the participants and spectators of the 9th TDCP (Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab) Thal Desert Rally in the Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu and Layyah districts.
"The inclusion of women drivers in the TDCP Thal Desert Rally is welcome. We are pursuing a policy of providing equal opportunities for entertainment to the citizens of Punjab," she stated.
The chief minister was informed that the registration, tagging, inspection and medical examination of the race participants will be done at Chhanga Manga Dunes in Kot Addu."
Besides the qualifying round, there would be riding demonstrations at a horse track to entertain the spectators. Kabaddi, javelin throw and Jhumar dance will also be featured.
The stock category race will be held at Chobara on November 9, while the javelin and Kabaddi competitions will be organised in Layyah.
A cultural night and fireworks display will also be organised.
The jeep race for women drivers will be organised on November 10. Dirt and quad bike races will also be held in Kot Addu and Chobara.
The prize distribution ceremony for the winners of the desert rally will be held in Muzaffargarh.
