Jilted lover among two arrested for murder

LAHORE:

Gulshan-e-Iqbal police have arrested a woman and a man on the suspicion of murdering a citizen 10 days ago.

According to the police, the case of the murder of Ehsan Ali in Mehran Block was solved using technology, including Call Data Record and geo-fencing.

The investigation revealed that then victim had been in a relationship with the suspect Areena for four years.

However, Ehsan had recently become engaged to his cousin.

The suspect Areena allegedly conspired with a new acquaintance, Arjuman, and orchestrated Ehsan's murder.

Police apprehended both suspects and booked them for then murder.

Meanwhile, a man was stabbed to death in Liaquatabad allegedly by a relative for preventing him from using drugs.

According to Model Town SP Akhlaq Ullah Tarrar, the police arrested the suspect after responding to a call on the emergency helpline.

The victim, identified as 32-year-old Ahmed Raza, had reportedly confronted his relative Nazir, who is said to be a drug addict.
