Foreign Office dismisses speculations on interference in Pakistan’s internal affairs

The Foreign Office has stated that speculations regarding interference in Pakistan's internal affairs are incorrect.

Foreign Office spokesperson, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, said in a media briefing that Pakistan and the United States are long-standing friends and partners, Express News reported.

She furthe said Former President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have congratulated newly elected US President Donald Trump.

Pakistan desires strong bilateral relations with the United States. She clarified that speculations about interference in Pakistan's internal matters are baseless.

The spokesperson also announced that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would attend the Riyadh Summit on November 11.

The Prime Minister will participate with a high-level delegation. Pakistan will advocate for the establishment of a free Palestinian state and call for an end to Israeli aggression.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will visit Baku to attend the Climate Change Conference, which will be held on November 12 and 13.

PM Shehbaz, Bilawal congratulate Trump on US election win

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated Donald Trump on his re-election as US President, calling it a "historic victory" for a second term.

In a tweet, Shehbaz expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with the incoming administration to bolster Pakistan-US relations.

"I look forward to working closely with the incoming administration to further strengthen and broaden the Pakistan-US partnership," Shehbaz wrote.

Chairman Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also congratulated Donald Trump on his "election and historic comeback" as US President in a tweet on winning the election.

"The people of America have given him and his team a resounding victory," Bilawal wrote, tagging prominent figures like Elon Musk, J.D. Vance, Robert Kennedy Jr., and Tulsi Gabbard.

Imran's release, US election link dismissed

Earlier on Wednesday senior government officials had told Express News that linking the potential release of PTI founder Imran Khan to the US elections, and the recent results, was mere speculation.

They believed that cases against Imran were still under consideration in the courts, and that his release was a legal matter on the local level.

The officials continued that these cases would be concluded according to the law, and the government would not accept any dictation from a foreign country on this matter.

They expect that ties with the new US administration, under President Donald Trump, would improve, and the country planned to continue its policy of maintaining relations on an even footing.
