As the 2024 U.S. presidential election results continue to unfold, social media has erupted over Elon Musk’s presence at Donald Trump’s election night event at Mar-a-Lago.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO, a vocal supporter of Trump throughout the campaign, shared a photo of himself in conversation with the former president at the event, captioned simply, “Team Trump, assemble.”

The post, featuring a live CNN vote count in the background, quickly went viral, drawing millions of views and reactions from supporters and critics alike.

“God bless you, Elon Musk, for buying Twitter, saving freedom of speech, and for helping Rightful President Trump as much as you have!” one user wrote, while another added, “If Elon didn’t buy Twitter, tonight may not have happened. Thank you, Elon.”

Musk’s appearance with Trump sparked a flurry of supportive messages, including comments like, “Thank you for giving us Free speech” and “THANK YOU ELON AND TRUMP FOR SAVING AMERICA.”

Many Musk and Trump supporters also shared fan art and memes, depicting the two as superheroes, with one post likening them to DC Comics’ Justice League, calling it “the greatest re-calibration in American history.”

“Who else can’t wait for this next Trump administration?” another Twitter user remarked, while others were quick to share their hopes for a new direction in the country.

“Trump and Musk saved America!” one person tweeted enthusiastically, while another wrote, “So excited for this future!!”

Elon Musk has been a high-profile backer of Trump’s campaign, reportedly donating over $118 million and attending multiple rallies with the former president, including one at Madison Square Garden.

On election day, Musk posted that he had voted in Cameron County, Texas, stressing the stakes of the election. “I view this election as a fork in the road of destiny,” Musk said during a recent podcast with Joe Rogan. “The reason I have been politically active this election is because if we don't elect Trump, we will lose Democracy in this country and the two-party system.”

At the time of writing, the count remains ongoing.

As of the latest updates, Trump leads with 267 electoral votes, just three shy of the 270 needed to win the presidency. Key battleground states, including Arizona, Nevada, and Wisconsin, are still tallying votes.

Following news of his lead, Trump addressed supporters in the early hours, pledging to bring a “golden age of America.”

As the night continues, Musk’s partnership with Trump remains a trending topic, underscoring the Tesla CEO’s political influence in a race that has captivated the nation and reshaped political alliances.
